April 11, 2008 - Ah, the best laid plans... Yes, the Hunt is still on a temporary hiatus, along with Skyhaven Adoptions.  I'm posting this to add a disclaimer - I was contacted by an outfit called Skyhaven Games, who wanted it made more clear that I am not affiliated with them.

August 13, 2007 - Yes, the wait is finally over!  Welcome to the all-new Skyhaven Hunt, version 3.0, now on its own subdomain! (This means nothing to you, but it means things will be a great deal more manageable on my end, as I can now update the Hunt independently of Skyhaven Adoptions.) What's new?  Several things:
- As returning seekers may already have noticed, I'm taking things in a different direction.  Rather than wandering aimlessly through the wilds of Tirialle, hoping to stumble across something interesting, I've created more focused areas to visit. (That's not to say that there aren't a few hidden surprises...)  So far, there are only two: Seeker Island and Harbyntil Palace.
- The areas of the new Skyhaven Hunt are all new.  Not a single character or puzzle or section has survived the reorganization.  Perhaps some will turn up in modified forms later on, but I intend to make v3.0 as much its own entity as possible.  Long-time Hunt fans will no longer have an advantage because they remember a given puzzle or maze from a previous incarnation.
- Each area is rated by the hardest puzzle in the section; see the FAQs for more on what ratings mean.  I hope that this helps clarify which parts of the Hunt are easy and which will require more thought, persistence, and/or luck. (I also hope that this reduces stress on those living with seekers, as they might be less likely to demand advice or that someone else complete a part of the Hunt for them.)
- I've also stopped having crossover species, though some are closely related to Skyhaven Adoption kin.  No more fancier-colored Main Adoption Lair critters lurking around here...  That said, the Horn-Crested Dragon, which used to be at Skyhaven Adoptions before the reorganization, is returning as a Hunt-exclusive adoptable.
- I've introduced a Field Guide, the Hunt equivalent of the Official Guide (at the main Skyhaven site), which describes Hunt critters in more detail than before.  Each also features a silhouette for identification purposes, and each entry tells you how many of a given species are currently available.  Now you'll know for certain if you've found everything...
Things are a bit skimpy at the moment, and I do apologize for that.  I'm still working the kinks out of the new Hunt format.  I will be expanding, modifying, and improving the new Hunt in the future.  In the meantime, I've introduced one brand-new Hunt-exclusive species, the Pronghorn Jackalope.  Read the Field Guide for more about them and other critters!  Enjoy!
