Description

Using watercolors and some gouache (an opaque painting medium similar to watercolors), Paul Bryn Davies creates several dragons via step-by-step lessons, also offering tips on painting original, expressive dragons of your own.

Review

These are bright, lively, and fun dragons, though his excessively human eyes and somewhat similar overall look cost it a point. He could've used a bit more in the way of dragon anatomy, too, as the most believable fantastic creatures have some sort of a solid bone and muscle structure under their skin. That aside, I found it an inspiring book to page through, for all that watercolors and I have never gotten along particularly well.
