Description
The Maya were one of the great Pre-Columbian civilizations of Central and South America, already in their last days when the Spaniards arrived to finish them - and other American civilizations - off. Timothy Laughton describes the glory days of the Mayan people, from their great astronomical achievements to their gory religion founded on human sacrifice.
Review
I really should stop visiting the bargain book shelf at Barnes & Noble... I was expecting much more out of this book, to be perfectly honest. The text seems shallow, jumping around without delving too deeply into what it presented. The photos are first-rate, but not worth the cover price. I wanted more, but I suppose I shouldn't be too picky in the discount section.
