Review
This would be even more helpful if I had a place to actually paint, but it is still a beautiful book to page through. The lessons are clear and easy to follow, with interesting and helpful notes on each subject covered. He doesn't go too far into anatomy and other aspects of building an animal from scratch on canvas; Lawrence assumes you have other training in that regard, focusing instead on the challenges of reproducing the many textures seen on animals. A great book, nonetheless.
