Description
Peter Jackson's big-screen versions of Tolkien's classic Lord of the Rings trilogy captivated the world, in no small part due to the impressive art design. This book offers a behind-the-scenes look at how the many characters, cultures, places and beasts of The Fellowship Of The Ring were developed, including original sketches and the artists' notes.
Review
I think the Lord of the Rings trilogy is the best fantasy film trilogy ever produced, and part of what made it so spectacular was the attention to detail displayed in this book. It was wonderful to be able to see how the stunning sets and visuals were developed from concept to finished piece. I can't wait to find the promised book about the second installment. (Unfortunately, try as I might, I can't seem to find a copy. Dang it.)
